Constructing the Most Random Yankees 26-Man Roster With Players From 2000-2025
This team is... something
A large number of current or former MLB players, from superstars to benchwarmers, have played for the Yankees.
The majority of the players who appear on The Yankees Chronicle’s all-time random Yankees 26-man roster spent one season or fewer with the club. The Yankees’ history spans over 100 years, but to qualify for this team, a player must have played at least one game for the organization at the MLB level since 2000.
Some guys had above average careers, but horrible tenures in New York. Others had an excellent stint with the Yankees, but their careers were otherwise underwhelming.
Below, you’ll find the roster broken down by position, beginning with the starting lineup. Provided alongside each player is the year(s) they played for the Yankees, along with their stats with the club.

The player with the most career stolen bases is outfielder Cameron Maybin, who swiped 187 bags in his 15-year career with 10 teams.
The starting pitchers with the lowest career ERA are Cody Poteet and Brandon McCarthy with a 4.20 earned run average. Poteet is active with the Baltimore Orioles and McCarthy played his final season in 2018.
The reliever with the most career strikeouts is Tyler Matzek with 279. He signed a minor league contract with the St. Louis Cardinals in early June after the Yankees designated him for assignment this May.
How many games would this team win with all 26 players in their prime? More or less than the Chicago White Sox 41 wins in 2024? I’d say less. What do you think? Comment below!
